Michelle Obama Wears Jasmin Shokrian Again!!!

The First Lady showed up in New York last week with her family to catch Memphis on broadway and lunch.  With the President all hunkered down with Congress getting our country’s health care package together, perhaps the First Lady figured to get away from the heat of battle for a brief respite.  Her all black ensemble, featuring a Jasmin Shokrian skirt, was perfect for the occasion.  Shop Zainab for Jasmin Shokrian and other great designs.

ZAINAB is pleased to announce the opening of a new boutique on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

The new shop is the first street-location for ZAINAB, replacing the old appointment-only salon in Hollywood with greater convenience and a larger, more diverse inventory.

The Melrose location continues to reflect founder Zainab Sumu’s commitment to personal, individual service for shoppers and the style sensibility that she calls Primitive-Modern.

As always, Zainab’s aesthetic is grounded in her love for Africa and her home country of Sierra Leone, paired with her international experience and expertise as a former sales manager for high fashion pioneer Commes des Garcons—

Her aesthetic and professional experience, along with Zainab’s dedication to one-on-one client service, are signature qualities brought to the new location.

Zainab searches the world for unique designers and collections on the leading edge of fashion, while remaining true to the original source of her own inspiration.  The latest lines that are modern and, to her eye, keep a “distinctive” edge, from global names like Azzedine Alaia and Ohne Titel to local L.A. labels such as Jerome Rousseau and LDTuttle.

The Melrose location makes visiting the boutique more accessible and convenient.  Yet the experience at ZAINAB is unchanged—relaxed, casual and comfortable.  As before, the decor and the atmosphere create a haven where busy women can hear the latest news about recent show viewings or buying trips to New York and Europe, along with suggestions to help each customer build a wardrobe that will match her taste, her needs and her lifestyle.

The new boutique expands the choices for men with a larger, exclusive selection of shirts, sweaters, jackets and shoes that guys won’t find in other stores around Los Angeles.
